WINDS LA -- our new European Latin American Cooperation

The WINDS-Latin America project
windsWINDS Latin America is a support action funded by the European Commission with the aim to deepen strategic Research and Development cooperation between Europe and Latin America in the field of Information and Communication Technologies.
WINDS-LA will mobilize exiting networks and research communities around the priorities of the European Union´s 7th Research Framework Programme (FP7), resulting into a multinational and multistakeholder community that will involve EU and LA ICT

WINDS-LA will identify research issues of common interest and opportunities for cooperative R&D between EU and Latin America, setting the basis for the formulation of an EU-LA joint strategy for future research.

The project is build around:

2. Collaboration services that will facilitate the aggregation of research actors around specific themes and the preparation of collaboration projects
3. Three research conferences in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico and a final Conference in Brussels
4. An open consultation process that will lead to a consensus-based roadmap for future R&D in an LA-EU collaboration perspective

WINDS-LA Project Consortium:
MENON Network (Belgium), Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain), Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya (Spain), University of Duisburg Essen (Germany), Pontificial University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Mexico), Fundación Gestión y Desarrollo (Argentina)
